Did you get a chance to read our last blog yet? If you did, then you already know that you shouldn't put your custom fly rod into storage just yet. There are many amazing places to go ice fishing the United States, and in our last blog, we talked about a couple of our favorites. The following is a list of the rest of the best ice fishing spots in the United States:

  • Fort Peck Lake- Located in Montana, this reservoir is a little slice of heaven for fishermen everywhere. A variety of fish can be caught here, including trout, pike, walleye, and sauger.
  • Lake Champlain- This lake is mostly in Vermont, but it can be accessed from New York and Quebec as well. This incredible lake is one of the best and most popular ice fishing destinations for fishermen all over the United States!
  • Lake Michigan- This lake spans multiple states, and can be accessed from Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. This is an incredible spot all year round, and the winter is no exception. Lake Michigan is home to salmon, trout, and more! For the safest ice fishing spots, stick to the bays, harbors, and marinas.
  • Mille Lacs Lake- This lake is located in Minnesota, and because of the extremely cold weather, it is typically open for ice fishing earlier than other destinations. You can expect to find northern pike, walleye, rock bass, perch, small mouth bass, and so much more in this 132,000 acres lake. This is a great lake for new ice fishermen, because there are always guide services and shack rentals close by.
